Our executive director of the Los Pisingos Foundation Daniel Fernández, attended an event in Casas de Santa Barbara, near the Nariño Palace where the presentation of the Alliance against Violence towards Girls, Girls and Adolescents was held, in order to reduce the rate of violence against minors by 14.3 percent.
The event was attended by President Iván Duque together with Vice Minister Marta Lucía Ramírez, first lady María Juliana Ruiz, representatives of the Government, non-governmental organizations and civil society.
During the presentation of the Alliance, the Director of ICBF explained that Colombia requires a cultural change, since violence against children and adolescents has become a natural and accepted action in society and that everyone can and should contribute to provide protection to new generations in a coordinated manner. In the coming months, a public policy will be formulated to eradicate violence against children and adolescents that will complement national and territorial initiatives, facilitating the concurrence of resources. This policy will aim to facilitate and encourage private social investment to complement public resources.
And it is that violence against girls, boys and adolescents does not give truce. In the first six months of the year, the ICBF opened a total of 9,569 Administrative Procedures for the Restoration of Rights (PARD) for sexual violence and abuse, which means that every day the ICBF opens 53 PARD in favor of minors who were victims of violence.
